How to take Cialis®

Typically, this dosage of Cialis® is taken once a day at the same time, no matter how often you have sex. It only takes 4-5 days for daily Cialis® to become fully effective and you can expect peak concentration in as little as 30 minutes. Cialis® can be taken with or without food, so taking it around the same mealtime is an option.
Common Cialis® side effects
Common side effects of Cialis® include headaches, flushing, upset stomach, abnormal vision, stuffy nose, angina (chest pain), back pain, muscle aches, indigestion, hearing loss, and rash. If you have persistent side effects, talk to your health care professional. If you have a prolonged erection that lasts longer than 4 hours, you may have a serious medical condition called priapism. Other rare serious side effects are low blood pressure, irregular heartbeat, heart attack, heart failure, allergic reaction, or NAION (sudden vision loss). How long does it take for Cialis® to work?
When taken as-needed and at a higher dose, Cialis® typically starts working within 30-60 minutes, so you will need to take it about an hour before sex to give it time to kick in. However, when Cialis® is taken daily and at a lower dose, it may take a few days to build up in your system. After four or five days of daily use, you may find that you are able to have successful sex at your leisure.
How long does Cialis® last?
The effects of Cialis® can last up to 36 hours, but the highest amount of the drug can typically be found in the bloodstream between 30 minutes and six hours after taking Cialis®. However, because Cialis® remains in the body for longer than other ED medications, it is important not to take Cialis® more than once every 24 hours.
Does Cialis® have any food or drug interactions?
Like many other medicines, Cialis® should not be taken in combination with nitroglycerin/nitrates for heart problems or hypertension (high blood pressure), riociguat, alpha-blockers, grapefruit juice, sildenafil, vardenafil, Adcirca®, ritonavir, doxazosin, or antifungal medicines.
Additionally, the following drugs can increase the effects of Cialis® by altering the drug's metabolism: ketoconazole, erythromycin, itraconazole, rifampin, and clarithromycin.
Who should not take Cialis®?
You should not take Cialis® if you are taking any of the medicines listed above or have any of the following health conditions: moderate to severe liver disease, moderate to severe kidney disease, retinitis pigmentosa, sickle cell anemia, or certain heart problems such as advanced congestive heart failure or a recent myocardial infarction. Be sure to discuss your medical history with your provider.
Does Cialis® treat anything other than ED?
Yes. Cialis® is approved to aid the treatment of the following medical issues: pulmonary arterial hypertension (if taken without nitrates) and enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia or BPH).
What won't Cialis® do?
Cialis® will not protect you against sexually transmitted diseases, provide sexual stimulation, make your penis bigger, treat premature ejaculation, or cure other diseases than for which it was prescribed (eg, peyronie’s disease).
